It's all a psychological problem or a mindset everywhere, not only with Muslims in Pakistan but in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran and other Muslim countries even with Muslims living in West and European countries. I think that's why I see women covered in burqas or hijab in the hottest season of summer. Dresses do not represent or show the behavior or morality of the person but they think so. Another possibility is they regard it bad only due to blind following of what is told to them about Islam by millionaire “molvies”. What scripts are preached, they are unaware of their patriarchal nature and that it was men who wrote those. According to several ‘Ahadiths’ regarded as sayings of Prophet Mohammad by majority of Muslims all over the world, Women are dumb, not have enough wisdom, capability and physical strength like men. I think that's why they deserve half of their heritage according to them. But it is proved that in no sense women are less mature, wise and capable of doing anything which men can do. Religious scriptures are all written at the time when men were not aware about the abilities and capabilities of women. so they regard them silly, foolish, a thing to use, slaves for sex and birth machine . Therefore, they devised rules, regulations and restrictions for them. It is regarded as taboo to talk about dressing for women in muslim societies.
Once music, press, photo, radio, television were forbidden and still are in many parts of these societies. I remember my father told me that when I informed his mother about radio that someone is singing somewhere else and we can listen to it on this device. She said:” Why do you talk like infidels”. The dress, music and likewise religious orders holding rigid interpretation are reformed by scholars like Ghamidi who see burqa as a culture, not a religious order. Likewise, he found sayings by The Prophet in favor of music and not against it. He was criticized too much. To majority, it is not the essence of the religion as its core purpose or teachings and therefore he had to flee Pakistan.
To break these taboos in muslims of Pakistan, if some moderate muslims take gradual steps to change dress codes for women, it will be a matter of just a few weeks and then it will be the norm like in Europe. It will not tempt men anymore as given as a reason for rapes in Pakistan by Imran Khan, former prime minister. And that is actually a senseless reasoning. That’s why I agree with Tarek Fatah’s understanding of Imran khan as “Person with 0 Intellect” . Its nothing in dressing for temptation to rape, but its a hoarding of frustration, which is denial or senseless restriction to one of the basic human need or instinct. In Pakistan, what I observed is that the younger generation wastes their prime age looking for ways to fulfill such needs and eventually they find they looser at older ages of 50s and 60s that they have not done something remarkable, when it was their time. Their all energies wasted in that phenomenon to find satisfaction for this basic human need or instinct. And of course it could have resulted in henious type of rapes, child abuse and marital rapes which are at its worst form acted in Pakistan. Just look at news reports. Millions of childrens abused, little girls and women raped in their houses. Even dead bodies are not safe in this filthy land.
One of such steps to end this cruelty is permission and creating an environment for consensual sex between young people. For this and many other steps, there are many many things which Pakistan and muslim countries need to learn from Europe and the West . They have nurtured generations of younger people in a way that they are living life at its best and able to show and exercise their natural and ingrained talents and capabilities in the best possible ways which made Europe heaven. They have high moral values which are now at the stage of compromise behind the influx of Muslims immigrants in Europe who are breeding as much as they can. But that is a separate topic to write about. Muslims and especially Pakistanis need to realize why they want to migrate and settle in Europe and the West. It's only because there are no senseless rules and regulations prevailing here which restrict basic human needs and those were thoroughly understood, experienced and then made laws on them accordingly. Traditional rules and regulations prevailing in Pakistan are absolutely not compatible with today's social, economic, security environment. Muslims living in Europe clearly know and observe that Europeans and English people are best humans, honest people that respect law, that do not tell lies, that do not hate others, that do not deceive others only because they are not obliged that narcissistic thinking that “Only we are the best humans on Earth. Life here in Europe is prosperous, beautiful, full of beauty, joy and progress because the constitution is not made on expired senseless, traditional rules and regulations but made properly on modern human thinking and it keep changing as human thinking progresses.
